“Due to the recession we find we are no longer able to finance a 3 piece band and regret that “Sound Affair” are disbanding.
All merchandise will still be available from the usual outlets and we will still be contributing the proceeds to the various charities.
We would like to thank all of you who have supported us over the years and everyone who has been involved in our charity projects.
A personal vote of thanks from me to Sammy and Ken for their hard work, loyalty and patience on the road and in the studio.”
We gave it a go lads. Roy.
THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR WATCHING TRUCK DRIVIN’ MAN, (“THE MOVIE”)

The addition of vocalist / drummer, Ken Astill, from the ‘wider world’ of rock and pop music, has brought a new edge to this band, and resulted in some polished recordings and vibrant live performances.
The diverse musical tastes of the band’s members, has thrown up some intriguing song selections for their live performances and recordings. In addition to ‘Irish Country’, ‘Bluegrass’, ‘Modern Country’, and a number of self penned titles, there are some innovative ‘Country Style’ arrangements of 50′s and 60′s classic songs, that all feature pedal steel guitar, and harmony vocals.
‘Sound Affair’ also have an ‘alter ego’ group called ‘The Elderly Brothers’, who are the same band members performing a different acoustic set, using guitars, dobro, mandolin, and acoustic bass guitar.
Both bands are available for all types of live performances, pub gigs, social dances, weddings, and corporate functions. See Upcoming Gigs section for details of current dates. Clicking on “More Info”, will reveal whether the event is a Sound Affair or Elderly Brothers gig.
Some of their previous recordings, and, tracks from the new CD, have been played on Mid West Radio, and many other country music stations around the world.
Please visit our ‘LOOK & LISTEN’ page on this site to hear all the tracks in full from both our albums, and get a flavour of our music.
Remember folks, when you listen to our audio tracks on this site, that’s pretty much what you get when you see us playing live.
